Nine partners with extensive experience in cultural and rural studies from eight European countries take part in the CANEPAL project, adopting an interdisciplinary approach, aiming to interpret and evaluate the pastoral culture of Europe, past and present, in the light of the economic and social components that shape the lifestyle of sheep farmers. The project target groups include:
1. Researchers and professionals involved in documentation, preservation and valorisation of European cultural heritage
2. Professionals involved in rural development; policy makers and administrators in the cultural and environmental fields
3. Teachers/educators, with a focus on secondary schools or specialising in the cultural field; students of secondary schools
4. The wider public
