The workshops aim to:

  • Stimulate exchange of experience and cooperation among ethnographic and rural heritage museums, cultural associations and other cultural operators in rural areas at national level, in six countries, Hungary, Greece, France, Poland, Bulgaria and Estonia,, enhance their work and expanding their horizons
  • Bring national museums and cultural operators in contact with similar organisations in other European countries, through the co-organisers and associate partners of this project, encouraging them to join an international network
  • Involve cultural operators at local and national level in the activities of the project across the participating countries, in order to achieve the widest possible base for the project activities.

The networking of museums and other cultural operators will take place in a number of workshops that will be organised in 6 countries: Hungary, Greece, France, Poland, Bulgaria and Estonia. The workshops will be combined with the thematic exhibitions in each country, so that some results of the project will be demonstrated to the workshop participants, to encourage exchange of experience and arouse interest in the project and in similar exchanges with museums and cultural organisations in other European countries.

„Lamb in the kitchen" – International workshop of CANEPAL
11th April 2014 – Hungarian Open Air Museum, Szentendre

The aim of the workshop was to present the wealth of sheep-based cuisine in the European countries. A national and an international section with 4-4 lectures were dedicated to the importance and diversity of meals made by mutton or sheep milk. The transnational workshop was organized by Hungarian Open Air Museum in order to support the thematic exhibition „Lamb in the kitchen".
