The University of Aegean announced the International Workshop themed "Handicrafts based on Raw materials from Sheep and Goats & Traditional Technologies of Food Production based on Sheep Breeding", organised in the context of the European Program CANEPAL "The European Heritage of Sheep Farming and Pastoral Life".
The workshop will take place on Wednesday, October 16th 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cultural Centre "Hellenic World", Peiraios 254, Tavros, Athens.

For the purpose of developing ideas for open-air educational programs on the CANEPAL project topics

Study trip to the village of Thermes, Greece, an important center for sanitary bathing flocks of sheep on the transhumance way to the Aegean Sea and back in the Rhodope.

Demonstration and Competition in chalnik game, led by Simeon Miliov.
Discussion on the idea of organizing of "shepherds'" sporting events
(games with sticks, pole vault, jumping, fighting, etc.) for children in order to study the folk traditions in the games of the shepherd-boys in the past.
In the main session of the national workshop on March 6, 2013 participated 50 people with 15 scientific contributions, 13 of them with presentations.
In the post conference open air mini-workshops on March 7, 2013 participated 18 people in the morning, and 17 people in the afternoon field work.
